Is your enhancement related to a problem?
A problem with ACE medical and High Armor Values like with Vanilla Heavy Armor or just RHS armor is the armor just negates most damage, leaving only bruises, even when mag dumped. This makes playing with the two very difficult.
Solution you'd like:
Give Armor Plates system the ability to override all armor vest values. Armor acts like normal when plates are in, but act like level 1 or 2 armor when the plates are broken or not inserted.
Alternatives you've considered:
A more complex solution, using the in-game "armor level system" and overriding all armor values in-game based off that, give the different levels different values and abilities
Going off of Vanilla armors:
Level 0: Do nothing, its just webbing
Level 1: No plates can be inserted, basic damage protection
Level 2: A slightly heavier version of Level 1, no plates can be inserted, slightly more damage protection
Level 3: Basic Plates can be inserted, when the plate is destroyed or there is no plate, act like level 1 armor
Level 4: Basic Plates can be inserted, when the plate is destroyed or there is no plate, act like level 2 armor
Level 5: Basic Or Heavy Plate can be inserted. when the plate is destroyed or there is no plate, act like level 2 armor OR level 2 with additional blast protection
Heavy plate by default have more HP and thickness, configurable like basic plate (current plate in mod)
even without the heavy plate, level 5 has the advantage of more overall coverage and possible increased blast protection
Additional context:
I think RHS and other mods might have level 6 and above armor levels, so any armor above 5 just becomes 5 in this system.
This enhancement would be HUGE and fix a major problem between ace medical and other mods armor values, and even when not running ace medical, adds more depth to the mod if thats what people want
