Request/advice - wled strip with ambilight TV #158

I hope it's ok to ask the below.

I managed to install diyhue on my Home assistant vm and really impressed and happy with it.

I initially bought some govee light strips, and I could get diyhue to connect this strip to my Philips ambilight TV. Everything worked perfectly expect that the strip is seen as one light bulb by the TV. Understanding the limitations of the above, I decided to with with esp8266 solution with SK6812 strips.

The wifi ESP8266 controller from Gledopto comes pre installed with wled and allow segmentations but this doesn't seem to be supported by diyhue, or the strip would only be seen as one light bulb again?

I looked at the option of flashing this with diylights but the gledopto esp8266 doesn't come with a usb for flashing and I am not super expert. I've read from another issue here that I could look at usb to ttl adapter?

Could you point me to the right direction?

The controller I have seem to be able to be be able to create two strips, maybe I can split the strip in two so wled get two light bulbs instead of one. Would I be better to connect this directly to diyhue, or do wled HA to diyhue?
