This was replicated briefly when dragging the editor splitter in presentation mode. It may be that this causes a problem in tandem with creating a new entry in the project explorer.

To replicate:

Create a sub-folder of a project folder.
Drag the folder into the rubbish bin.
Drag the divider between the pretty printer and preview pane.
