By that I mean when you post an image, a thumbnail is generated. If the image isn't cached, it loads after the message is posted, which bumps down the page, but the scrollbar doesn't follow it (seems to work fine when the image is cached). After that, if other users continue to post messages, your window stays at the same scroll position:
If you post a message, it fixes the issue and the page starts auto-scrolling to the latest message again, but not when other users post messages.
