User Interface for Student #26

I've been thinking about the user interface to BIM from the student's viewpoint. Having 'registered' my blog, the next thing I'd want to see is the assignment question and the due date. I'd want to be able to allocate a posting I made to the assignment myself . The marks and comments could go into a separate tab, as could the Student details.

So, here would be my suggestion. Have four tabs:

  1. Questions. This would show what is currently in the link 'range of questions' with the addition of a due date for each question
  2. Posts This would show the information 'Marks and Comments for released posts' and 'All posts' Here I'd be able to allocate an existing post to a question on the list.
  3. Student Details This would show Student details
  4. Activity details This would show the contents of BIM summary

The last selected tab could be stored in the moodle cookie (or personal profile) to be shown again upon return, but that's gravy.

To some extent, the comment I made in the BIM/gradebook issue applies now. i.e. current student view is simple, could be improved.

I like the suggestions you've made above. They all make sense and some link with some other issues - e.g. due dates for each question.

This would also be the obvious place to enable students to manage the sharing of their posts with others and access any activity related feeds.

e.g. the teacher might create a Top 5 (where 5 might be any X) posts feed which includes the Top 5 marked student posts on each question. It could be random.

A student might have the option to construct a feed based on some criteria, including chosing their friends.

Have set this to "future" but only because immediate is about getting a working version out the door. This is an important one to revisit.
