We currently use the arxiv primary category as the top-level directory for organizing downloads. However, these use some cryptic acronyms, e.g. astro-ph.CO, astro-ph.IM, math.RA.
This issue is to review whether it would be better to remove anything after an initial . or perhaps do something else.
Is there a list of all primary categories somewhere?
