For my (upstream) development workflow it seems to be important to have the code as it is upstream.
The reason is that I want to be able to build the documentation from the package in the build
directory. Actually Debian seems to do the same, however, using their own build_dir
.
https://salsa.debian.org/science-team/python-xrayutilities/-/blob/master/debian/patches/0003-Do-not-change-PYTHONPATH-during-the-build.patch
can this be upstreamed? As far as I remember these lines where only included because of Debian packaging. Needs to be investigated. It would be still desirable that the documentation can be built from the sources staged for installing and not only after installing.
