The EM406 is not currently supported in binary mode. If you want to use it,
switch it into NMEA at the correct baud rate and select the NMEA parser

Hi,
Made a cable to connect EM406 to FTDI (usb). Used SirfDemo to change mode of
406 to NMEA @ 38400 Baud.
Everything good now got good lock but altitude reporting wrong

Tony

Tony, please describe how the altitude is being reported wrong (eg high by a
factor of 10).

Just made a new 406 lib, but need testers/coders to verify it works.

@Tony - Ublox at this time. We concentrate support on ublox and mtek. Ublox
will give better performance.

SiRF library was tested with an EM411/USB hacked into an EM406.
Altitude reporting was typical for a stationary GPS - wildly wrong at lock (+/-
50m), improving with time to +/-20m or so.
Can you clarify how far off your unit was reporting? If you're not using it
anymore, please let us know.

Mike to test that EM411 works with Doug's changes and close.

Does the 1.0.0 Release support both NMEA and SiRF Binary mode for EM-406A GPS
now?
Thanks!
