Use android share feature to export json/mpsites file #15

Hi there, it will be incredible awesome if the export dialog uses the android share feature so that you can directly send the file via email, dropbox, whatever...

Regards, scus1

PS. I am not a native speaker and my friend and me are unsure about the sentence above. Is "will" correct or should it be "would"?

Nice idea. I will look into this for a future version.

Regarding the language: I'm not a native speaker either but I will try to help. I paste your sentences and insert my corrections in bold. (my corrections means that I would have written it that way, no guarantee of correctness)

Hi, is there any chance this feature will be released soon? I recently changed to a Xiaomi MI4C and after a few patches the MIUI file manager crashes during import / export. When I deactivate the file manager, MasterPassword crashes with an "ActivityNotFoundException".

Right now I have no chance of creating or reimporting backup-files.

I think the android share feature would solve this problem.

Hi,

sorry there is no estimate from my side when this feature will be implemented. I also doubt that it will help you if you have deactivated your file manager.

Which android version is running on the Mi4C? I could however include a switch to enable the built-in file manager (that is normally only active on devices <4.4). But that one is very limited in functionality and a bit unstable.

The MI4C runs on Android 5.1.1. Right now I'm happy for every solution ;)

Just published a new version to the play store. (should be available in a few hours) There you have the possibility to enable the internal file manager in the settings.

This should at least give you the possibility to import and export (without Google Drive and other support)

Hi, sorry for the late feedback. Thanks for the quick solution. Unfortunately this doesn't solve the problem. Seems to be a bigger problem in the MIUI operating system.

Hi David,

as an alternative idea, can you just implement a function which copys the JSON to the clipboard, so I can create my own backup. This would really be helpful.
