Update: 2016.06.27

What is done

• Implemented icosphere drawing.
• Initial project architecture as engine library includes GLView, GLViewListener.
• Implemented few editor manipulations: camera movement, vertices colorizer (by vertex attribute).

What is not done

• Terrain manipulations as vertices moving by icosphere normal.
  Undone due priority of first implementation with vertices colorizer.

Plans

• [ ] Experiments with different layout managers for buttons.
• [ ] Saving/Loading model using internal editor file format.
• [ ] Speedup icosphere building (> 3 splits) or add usage with prebuilt mesh.
• [x] Add icosphere texturing. Find optimal texture packing.
• [x] Current vertices colorizing by vertex attributes non smooth. Use textures as canvas.
• [ ] Terrain manipulations as vertices moving by icosphere normal.

• Implemented icosphere texturing.
• Drawing on icosphere via textures.

What is not done

  Current stack-type actions view allows freeze this activity until is not a lot of buttons.
• Saving/Loading models.
• Speedup icosphere extension.
• Terrain manipulations.

• Terrain up/down manipulations
• Saving vertices data for restoring model state between sessions.
• Simplified texture drawing. Removed artifacts.
• Added metrics view. PR #22 .
• Console view for receiving text commands and shortcuts from user.
• Explicitly triangulated mesh.

What is not done

• :snowflake: External model format saving.
  Frozen until the time when starts main project.
• :snowflake: Model's file size after saving.
  Meaningful for external file format.
• Ctrl+z for undoing changes.

Plans

• [ ] Experiments with camera. Try change "look at" point when camera nearer/farther to planet.
• [x] Backtrace for undoing changes.

What is done

• Boosted icosphere building, PR #34, and triangles touching, PR #35.
• Undoing changes using Ctrl+z combination (PR #36).
• Highlighting for icoshpere manipulations (PR #37).
• Natural sun shading.
• Grass objects adding (PR #41).

What is not done

• :snowflake: Camera direction changes.
• :snowflake: Other terrain objects like water and clouds.
• Always actual information in Features page.
  Current interface and usage changes so fast. We can make it later.

Plans

• [x] Export texture.
• [x] Try GLUT's menu.
• [ ] Experiments with lighting at night side of planet. Implement small color orbs.
• [ ] Texture colorizer with generated textures (grass, sand, stone).
• [ ] Random terrain generation.
• [ ] Writing performance tests (using OpenCV for example or by self).
