More secure and hot swap-able joysticks

Sometimes the joystick falls off while typing, in particular the thumb stick since there is less downward force and more tilting. They are not glued currently and there is only a small 2mm^2 surface area to fit the stick on to and hope it stays securely in place. I would also like to maintain the ability to remove the top in case is needs to be serviced.

Some options I have considered:

• Glue current joystick on, but increase the hole size so the top could still be removed. This would expose more of the PCB and i might want to improve the shape later on.
• Design a stem that has some sort of locking mechanism so the caps can be screwed on/off, and glue the stem on permanently.
• Holding the stick on with some sort of small screw?

Any other ideas would be appreciated 🙏

Using the same knurled insert nuts and screws from the case, this is actually working pretty well!
