Hi, based on the init Table info would be interesting when an officially vdo version getting into the Repos for newer Kernels

Version | Intended Enterprise Linux Release | Supported With Modifications -- | -- | -- 6.1.x.x | EL7 (3.10.0-*.el7) |   6.2.x.x | EL8 (4.18.0-*.el8) | Fedora 28, Fedora 29, Fedora 30, Rawhide

Hi @madmax01, good catch.

Version 8.1.x.x is intended for EL9 (5.14.0-*.el9). Fedora releases should be updated in those columns as well.

I try to maintain a fork that works with the recent kernels on current Fedora releases including rawhide, but I've been hitting some road blocks in COPR that have prevented me from keeping them up to date. I have not had the time to diagnose. Hopefully soon.

Hi there,

thx for the Info.

the Reason why i asked is,..... Oracle for example with 8.5 have UEK 5.4.17.

So tried to see hows possible to get VDO working (without doing compile process),...... interesting if there is an reachable rpm repo for RHEL downstreams.

as i was not sure how works > i disabled kernel and booted with 4.18.0-384... and worked.

vdo in the repo available is 6.2.5.74

would 8.1.x.x then work as well for any 5.x ?

sry just confusing a bit - trying to find the correct binary repo,.. as officially repos seems have lower versions

Any status updates? A recent update F36 removed the older kernel that I had working with VDO. Can I use the latest 5.19 kernels? My Fedora hypervisor is now dead as I have more guest vms stored on a VDO volume.

Answered here. Bottom line. Yes. I apologize for the super delays.

Seriously, there is no need for an apology on your end. This is completely my fault and I need to do better. People like you depend on this software being available.
