I am using Arduino UNO R3 and IDE version 1.0.5, no bootloader modifications. I 
made a program that uses the serial monitor, I run the sketch(on USB and serial 
monitor open) and the serial monitor stayed blank. I used the right code, in 
case you need to ask.
