It might also have been that the swipe should be inverted from what it is right now?
Anyways this simple jumping puzzle I set up is breaking my brain.
Actually maybe it's fine; the more I play with it.
There is a learning curve, for sure .
Playing around with it now (yay developer's license!) I think it's good, it just needs to give the player more feedback that a 'slide' took place (i.e. with a super quick animation moving the band across the screen or something. Also perhaps having a band on the top to show you your current colour.
Double tap on the side to slide is a bad idea. Doable near the jump button but impossible to do when holding your thumb on the d-pad. I actually think the sliding is pretty wicked. More feedback is key.
Ya I like the band on the top idea.
I'm not sure if #12 will fix this... In fact it probably won't; but you seem to be able to do a swipe if you move your finger from the left dir stick to the right dir stick.
I think we should disable it around the dpad.
I feel confident any sliding confusion has been resolved by c5b4375d799e3ec04653f0ad6078da4f5fd7f977 and 32a5ec6acbe5f84040153c2bd28f10087fbac987.
The swipe gesture is cool, but I think we should have something else also.
When you're jumping between colours it's a bit hard to jump then swipe. I mean it adds a bit of difficulty, but we'd have to avoid multi jumps where there is a time constraint on the platforms.
I was thinking that having a simple tap or double tap on the edge of the screen colour that you wanted to go to would be good for this sort of situation.
