Midi to Casio PX-330 Keyboard plays down half-step #37

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load Midi into Aria Maestosa
2. Play as output to Casio PX-330 keyboard
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
--Expect song in same key as recorded or as loaded (problem is the same with a
midi taken from the web or recorded on the Casio keyboard)
--When played back, the song is half-step lower (e.g., recorded in key of C;
plays back in key of Db)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
--Casio USB MIDI Driver (10.7) (1).pkg
--OS X Version 10.9.2
--Aria Maestosa 1.4.9

Other information:
--If the keyboard is powered off/on, then the midi plays in the right key once;
subsequent plays are in the wrong key

When you manually enter notes, does it play correctly the first time also ?

If the keyboard is "fresh" -- meaning it has not played a midi from the
Mac/Casio driver since being turned on, it will play correctly once. (This is
the same for midis from the web.)

And is it doing this with any other software ? I also assume that the
transposition isn't visible on the score in Aria Maestosa.

Since there are no transposition functions in the driver, I'm afraid I cannot
help there ... I know that some keyboards have transposition settings, but they
wouldn't appear magically after the first play.

What might happen is that, for some reason, Aria Maestosa sends unexpected
control codes that modify the transposition settings on your keyboard. Did you
check with Aria ?

I haven't been able to test with other software but the midi's play
correctly on the PC (e.g., quicktime).

My keyboard will transpose if explicitly set to do so. I've checked the
setting and the midi does not appear to do that.

I haven't checked with Aria M yet but will.
