Shouldn't that be the task of a dedicated application? Like a music daemon
(mpd?) and
a frontend, launched from dmenu that controls the daemon.

I'm thinking along the same line, in keeping with the unix philosophy.

Thanks 1@qbQD4T5Z0949. I will test it out and commit into svn if everything is
ok.
Just to be on the safe side, can you confirm we can distribute the sound effect
files
under GPL? Are they created by you, or we need to credit the original author?

I think these WAV files can be redistributed under GPL.
And for these files, you don't need display the author, because of the original
author requests.
The original author's site is here.
"The Match Makers"(Japanese only)
http://osabisi.sakura.ne.jp/m2/
and his request is here.(Japanese only, too)

This is 1@qbQD4T5Z0949.
Today, I made wav-files for dmenu.
These sound data are not cool, because I've never make sound data.
But these wav files can redistribute free for all.
If you need them, I give it to you.

Hi 1@qbQD4T5Z0949, I have added your menu sound patch in r22 with some slight
modification.
I will add your wav files to svn later. If you are interested, I can add you as
a
commiter as well so you can commit your future changes to svn directly.
