I cam across this tool as one of our consultants (HiDEF) is using it. I am a wind analyst working for SSER and had some comments - i thought i put them her in case they are useful. Firstly loving the shiny app - looks great.
Could the wind speed distribution be changed to a Weibull distribution - normal distribution doesn't make much sense for wind speeds. You could just request the A& K values for the site and this would be easy for a wind team to provide as input.
Wind Availability is a strange term and could be confused with turbine availability(which i think you refer to here as downtime) can this be clarified in the information panel. I assume by "Wind Availability" you mean the time spent between cut in and cut out for a turbine.
