I'm having an issue with accessing downloaded outputs. In the zipfile, subfolder, I am consistently unable to extract and open the file. I get the message 'an unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file'. The error is coded 0x80004005: unspecified error. All other .csv files appear to open normally.

Hi Helen. We'll have a look - that's not something that has been reported before, so no immediate suggestions.

Just a note that this software is quite out-of-date from our perspective (superseded by sCRM and the stochLAB R package) - so issues don't get dealt with very quickly, as this is effectively a community service now. It is open source though :) so feel free to dig into the code and offer a pull request.

Thank you - please let me know of any further developments.

Although the software may be out of date from your perspective, as ecological consultants we are still being advised by Natural England to use this version for collision risk modelling.

Hi Helen. We're aware that some bodies are advising this software be used, we're having a meeting later this month with regards this. We've not been involved in any discussions about maintaining this software for commercial use.

The software was originally commissioned by Marine Scotland in 2017, who also funded the newer 2022/23 version - this makes stochCRM deprecated. WRT Natural England - I understand that they may be permitting use of the offline version (so you could have a local install, which might resolve things for you). I'm not sure this is formal advice yet though, so you may want to confirm.
