Unable to pair/locate an Apple TV (in same VLAN/broadcast domain) #183

Open scorpion7-7 opened 1 month ago

scorpion7-7 commented 1 month ago

AppleTV latest generation and has latest firmware (17.6) OS instance that iSponsorBlockTV runs on: Debian 6.1.99-1

When doing a tcpdump on the interface, the outbound query is seen, but the AppleTV doesn't respond to this. Interestingly, another device does respond but no devices are listed in the lan discovery context (under main.py --setup).

Having the same issue trying to get the lan discovery function working on Ubuntu 22.04 can connect via pairing code though.

I've always found that it's rare for YouTube on Apple TV to respond to SSDP; I always use a pairing code as it's the only reliable method I've found 😅

@caraar12345 I found the same thing in testing, it was hard to get it to work properly. Pairing code works much better and doesn't even need to be on the same lan
