AppleTV Youtube App Suffers Stuttering & Slowdown with v2 #89

Describe the bug Since upgrading to v2, the Youtube app on AppleTV now intermittently gets an incredible amount of lag and stuttering. This persists between app reboots, but works normally on system reboot. This especially happens after opening a video and closing it quickly, at which point a blank canvas of that video reemerges. The app also begins to faulter, UI becomes slower or non responsive, such as scrolling between sidebar features. Also, there are times when the app would stutter hard in the video playback, sometimes almost every second, with the loading wheel shown.

I tested the last version of v1 and have found a smooth experience, without any issues.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Run Youtube on ATV4 (last non-4k ATV) with the latest tvOS, following wiki setup for docker. Try browsing through several videos, including opening and closing videos within seconds.

Expected behavior UI and video playback to be ordinarily smooth, such as in the v1 setup.

iSponsorBlockTV server (please complete the following information):

Apple TV (please complete the following information): Apple TV 4 A1625 (2015) running tvOS 17.0.

Additional context I have only tried v2 after updating to tvOS 17.

These sorts of issues seem to be due to how the YouTube lounge api works (what’s used to interact with devices on v2), and are out of my control. Probably the best option would be to try to file an issue to YouTube, informing that the TV app stutters when being remote controlled by a “mobile device”
