Elegit icon turns to static when resizing window (OSX) #513

When launching Elegit (on my MacBook running 10.12.4) the window shows up fine with the blue icon on the top of the window to the left of "Elegit".

If the window gets resized, the blue icon turns to static. Why?

Just to be clear: by static, he means "like the white fuzz you see on a TV with no signal."

(to distinguish from any of the 5 other potential meanings for the word static that might apply)
