Notifications cover up button #597

If a notification is message is longer than the window width, it will cover all of the bottom ribbon, including the button that expands the notification window.

It appears that rather than covering the button, it resizes the entire window to accommodate the size of the notification, moving the expand button as well as the local repo icon and the entire remote section to the right, and often of the edge of the window.
