I can't figure out how to do a custom command so when a player goes home then can use a command to return back from where they teleported from, like a setreturn and then return.

You can use the variables provided in custom commands and shown as examples in the xml file. The How To Setup.xml has some more details about how to utilize them. If you need more info, I can help.
