anything that was in DBS2 has to be accepted. see: https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/CMS/get/crabFeedback/7309.html namely:

We have several datasets which were previously published in the cms_dbs_ph_analysis_02 instance of DBS2 and which have a period ('.') in the dataset name. For example, /stop600ToBottom_1.00mm_8TeV-pythia6_Summer12-START52_V9-v2/ahart-stop600ToBottom_1.00mm_TuneZ2star_8TeV-pythia6_Summer12_DR53X-PU_S10_START53_V7A-v3-e542883f7d1b22c1f30ae55768bc52e5/USER

As I understand it, periods are not allowed in the names of newly published datasets in DBS3. For the previously published datasets, I see that they have been migrated to DBS3, but when I look at them in DAS, I see "WARNING: "dbs3 data-service. Invalid Input Data /stop600To...: Not Match Required Format"" Likewise, when I try to create a CRAB task to run over one of these, CRAB gives a similar error when doing data discovery: "RestClient.ErrorHandling.RestClientExceptions.HTTPError: HTTP Error 400: Invalid Input Data /stop600To...: Not Match Required Format"

this is not due to Crab, but to DBS3. At the moment users can still read from DBS2.
