Adjust cache time for DBS datasets #3317

The update cycle of DAS seems to be less frequently. Can this be adjusted?

valya: What do you mean by that? Are you not satisfied with DAS release update cycle? Is it too short, too long? Why do you care? Please be more specific and provide your use case.

DAS follows cmsweb upgrades. They are scheduled once a month by HTTP group. The upgrade window is determined by coordination between various groups, including HTTP, data-ops, etc. The set of changes in DAS upgrades are followed this schedule and if changes came late in proposed dates, then they're post-poned till next update window. The only exception HTTP group accepts to break this rule is found vulnerability, which requires immediate patch. All other bugs are post-poned till next update window.

valya: Arno, please reply to the ticket, otherwise your comments will be lost. I'm reposting your response:

I meant that it takes about 1h before I see changes in my published datasets. At least it feels, like this Can the response be adjusted?

Thanks and cheers, Arno

Yes, the default cache time for DBS is 1h. It can be adjusted, the question is what is useful default? DBS contains mostly static data. Please provide your use case. How 1h is affect you. I need to know full workflow to make a decision how I can justify that certain datasets needs to stay in cache shorter time.
