Hello, thank you for forking the now archived dnSpy. Do you have information for donations or how to contribute monetarily? It may be nice to provide this so people like myself can help support this project to avoid it ending like dnSpy did!

Yess, you should definitelly set up a ko-fi, or paypal, or just post a god damn crypto address, the work you do is awesome, and I would like to donate some money too

Hello, First of all, I would like to apologize for responding to this issue 3 months after it was initially posted, I kind of forgot about it...

Now to the actual response: I currently do not have any donation portals set up and do not have any plans to do so in the near future. While monetary support looks appealing to me at first thought, after some careful thinking I realized that it might not be such a simple answer. The main conclusion I came to is that I am concerned that if I do begin to accept sponsorships, the sponsorships might pressure me to do more work on dnSpyEx than I have the motivation to do. dnSpyEx is not the only project of mine even if it may seem like it from my GitHub profile. This kind of "forcing myself to work on dnSpyEx" might lead to me losing motivation to work on the project and even eventually lead to burnout. Pretty much what I mean by this is that the monetary incentive could make me feel like I'm underdelivering if it comes to development time dedicated to this project. It is after all a project I develop only in my free time.

Now to address another also a quite major concern with monetary donations. GitHub sponsors and ko-fi require either a stripe or Paypal account which I am not able to legally have due to my age. Furthermore, I have no idea how taxes and all of that accounting stuff works for minors like me receiving money in Poland, I tried researching it but the information available is rather sparse. The only actual way I could receive donations would be cryptocurrency. This raises another problem, I have no idea how cryptocurrency works or anything about using it for that matter.

I hope this little response provides some insight as to why I do not have any donation method set up or why I don't expect myself to open one in the near future unless something major changes. If anything needs clarification I'm glad to do so, I wrote this response rather late in the afternoon after a very long and thought day :)

Hey thanks for the response, time is no issue at all! Thanks for such a thoughtful consideration, as an open source developer myself I completely understand your concerns. It's smart of you to know yourself well enough to know that you may feel pressured into working more and are mature enough to know that is unhealthy. I have battled this myself with projects I own, and I personally have reached a state where I am comfortable telling people no, and have techniques to 'hide' unwanted requests/conversations with people who demand too much. If you ever reach a point you'd like to reconsider, you can reach out to me on (https://gitter.im/ , P.S I check it infrequently) and I'd be happy to help you navigate those kinds of issues and how to manage a healthy open source community. And I can teach you crypto too :)

Thanks for your work on dnSpyEx, I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Hi, For those interested cryptocurrency donation wallets for several popular chains are now available on my profile. Donation are and will always remain 100% optional. Due to the nature of cryptocurrencies the donations are of course anonymous and hence there are no perks/rewards available.

Hi, An update on sponsorship/donation options available: I have now set up a GitHub Sponsors profile for those interested in supporting me monetarily. There are still no rewards for donating partially due to my preference and partly because of Polish tax law. There are a few premade monthly tiers available however, custom monthly tiers and one-time donations are also supported. The GitHub sponsors profile can be accessed by visiting my GitHub profile page or clicking the Sponsor button visible on the repository page. Cryptocurrency donation wallets are no longer an available support method. They have been removed from my GitHub profile to abide by GitHub Sponsors TOS as explained to me by GitHub Support.

Thanks to anyone considering donating, it really means a lot!
