Project creation wizard #143

Work flow of adding "Response fields" to new project is confusing. they should either be below the body field.

As an officer I should be able to add all necessary content for a single project in the same place.

I agree that this is an issue, but I don't think it's possible to get all the fields for project creation onto just one page. There's a lot of stuff going on:

That's why I created the new "wizard", but its implementation isn't that complete. Do you want to check it out and tell me what you think some good changes would be?

Giving an overview at the beginning is good. Still needs work though. You need to step people through the process - they shouldn't have to figure it out themselves. We should probably talk in more depth bc this is such a crucial interaction, but I would imagine a workflow like this.

[1] Over view page describing process, w/o links as I think this will just confuse the process (button: below explanation "Create Project" sends you to [2]) --> [2] - Enter body text, etc. (button: at bottom of page "Save" sends you directly to [3]) --> [3] - Create response form (button: at bottom of page "Save" sends you to [4]) --> [4] - (button: at top of page "No collaborators" sends you to [5]) Add collaborators (button: bottom of page "Save" sends you to [5]) [5] Preview of completed project (alert at top of page "You have just created project _____. To review and edit this project go to the settings/gear icon in the upper right corner of this page)

I would also add a breadcrumb type feature at the top of the pages so you know where you are in the process
