Tell us about your request allow the user to pick a base image, whether it is deb based or arch-based and allow users to set variables for the dev environment Which service(s) is this request for? setup

Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard? I have a python script that checks to see if it's running in a docker container, it would be useful if I could add that variable to the dev environment

Are you currently working around the issue? no
