documentation should be updated for all major operating systems like ubuntu, macOs (any way already there), centos, windows, amazon linux, etc.

Can you please describe the configuration doc you're expecting?

Keychain on OSX and Credential Manager on Windows are native and self-managed
pass configuration exists everywhere if you want to use it's helper: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pass
secretservice is generally already configured when package is installed
