Docker Desktop for Mac v4.35.x Cannot Apply Changes in Resources #7470

Open chunpan opened 2 days ago

chunpan commented 2 days ago

Description

In v4.35.0 or v4.35.1 of Settings, changing any values in Resources would not enable the "Apply & Restart" button.

Reproduce

  1. Update to v4.35.0 or v4.35.1.
  2. In Settings > Resources, change any values, e.g. Virtual Disk Limit, bump it up slightly.
  3. The "Apply & Restart" button remains greyed out, as if no change has been detected. Therefore, the change of Resources cannot be applied.
  4. Downgrade to v4.34.3, the issue goes away.

Expected behavior

Changing Settings > Resources should enable the "Apply & Restart" button.

Hey @chunpan,

Can you check whether Kubernetes is starting/stopping while you're trying to change a setting? Its status is displayed next to RAM & CPU. Image

Hey @doringeman, Kubernetes is always stuck at the "starting" stage when I bring up this version of Docker Desktop, like you've shown on your screen.

The current version of Docker Desktop may have bugs related to mac compatibility issues.

I think you can try the servbay tool, which is more professional on mac and supports more than docker.
