I really don't know what happened, but I was using beta 27 successfully for some time and then somehow docker hung and I could not get it restarted. I upgraded to the latest stable but it has not helped. I can't get to the docker menu, I just see a spinner in the menu bar where the docker icon would be. I've tried the uninstall option Docker --uninstall on the command line but it just hangs as well.

At this point I'm stuck. I can't remove the existing docker to start over, and every way I try to run it just results in a hang.

The only Error in console.app is:

Failed to read values in CFPrefsPlistSource<0x7fb19b46f7e0> (Domain: group.com.docker, User: kCFPreferencesAnyUser, ByHost: Yes, Container: (null)): Using kCFPreferencesAnyUser with a container is only allowed for System Containers, detaching from cfprefsd

Is there a way to completely remove docker from the command line, and start over?

samoht commented 7 years ago

Can you access the preference panel and reset to factory defaults?

tim-ireland commented 7 years ago

No, there is nothing in the toolbar that responds, not even the docker icon. Just a spinning cursor when I hover the mouse where the icon should be.

samoht commented 7 years ago

Can you try maybe to install the latest Beta to see if that helps? I am not sure why everything is hanging.

tim-ireland commented 7 years ago

Ok, I tracked this down to corruption on my ssd. Could not be repaired with disk utility. Thanks for the help.
