Doc4Win should refrain from displaying needless notifications #11102

Open SetTrend opened 3 years ago

SetTrend commented 3 years ago

Actual behavior

Whenever I start my machine, Docker for Windows bounces a message that it's launching. Whenever I shutdown my machine, Docker for Windows bounces a message that it's shutting down. Whenever I Bind-mount a Linux Docker container to the Windows file system, Docker for Windows bounces a message that this approach may be slow.

There is no switch available to disable these redundant notifications. All you can do is to fully disable Doc4Win notifications in Windows OS.

Expected behavior

Obvious state changes not requiring user interaction or attention should not trigger notifications.

There should be a Settings screen to disable (and probably re-enable) individual notifications on a per-user basis.

Information

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Launch Docker for Windows
