+1, I keep my browser windows at 1024x768 so I can have more on-screen, but Hub thinks they're phone screens now
If you guys are looking for a model, GitHub has a nice, clean interface with plenty of whitespace, but still manages to fit quite a bit of usable information and functionality into a reasonable amount of space.
We made the decision to go with the current grid size from the analytics we have. (89% of our visitors are on 1280 or larger). That said, I think we can make the experience better for smaller sizes by making some adjustments to our breakpoints, etc. I'm going to rope this in with some of the responsive changes we're tracking.
@ChristopherBiscardi thanks for taking a look! :+1:
For comparison, here's a screenshot of my profile page in my browser windows:
@tianon, apparently it's horrible on mobile too (see #46). @ChristopherBiscardi, if I understand you right, since only every ninth user has less than 1280+, it's 4K UHD or GTHO? :disappointed: Where's the love, man?
Not everyone has a retina display or uses hub.docker.com exclusively from their gen 1 iPhone. This screenshot is almost my entire screen on my 13" laptop:
There are four(!) pieces of information associated with this repository that are viewable in this screen. And yet it still can't fit inside a width of 1000 pixels. If a comment is added, I'll have to start scrolling vertically too. (Never mind the fact that I have to tab over to edit the description I'm now staring at.) How is this an efficient use of screen real estate?
