Kitematic window not showing OSX #4979

Expected behavior

Open the application from either the Mac Docker app in the toolbar or from Apps folder and Kitematic will show

Actual behavior

App opens and the main App Menu appears in the normal location at the top of the screen but no application window is showing.

Information about the Issue

Kitematic has been working for a few weeks without any problem. But now there is no main app window. I've tried Bring to Front, Close Windows, Toggle Chrome Dev tools - and I still can see any app window

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. ...Open Kitematic
  2. ...there's no window to see the app in

I have the same... tried reinstalling and zapping preferences in the Library folder but window does not show up.

Note: switched to external monitor when problem began.

I also would like to mention the Kitematic version but the About window is not displayed either.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Experiencing the same issue. Have removed preferences, reinstalled, rebooted, tried various things that normally bring offscreen windows onscreen, but no joy.

FOUND IT!!

This works best when you have the default blue desktop color on your mac.

Hopefully this works for you too!

This worked - for me it was a tiny vertical bar on the left of the screen.
