@Greduan provided the following sketch:

Source conversation

For code snippets, they would probably be best in the primary column as that is what the content would be explaining, and it would be great to be able to decouple the code snippets so we can have them in multiple languages too. #54

However, for things like directors notes, comments, additional resources, 3rd party videos etc, or even user comments like medium, this would be awesome.

Hrmm, this medium.com comments idea is actually really nifty... Perhaps that can solve a lot of the documentation issues we are having... as well as allowing users to contribute content into the sidebar as needed, without needed any moderation beforehand - which the pull request system does require.

/cc @chase @greduan your thoughts?

@balupton I really like Medium's comments, however since I don't think we're gonna provide commenting capabilities (are we?) what are we gonna show instead?

Code blocks? Examples? Author notes? Alternatives maybe?

Maybe users will be able to say "hey here's a typo, might want to fix it" and then whenever I go over these I can fix it.

I'm drafting up a possible layout and design during programming breaks, I'll have something ready tomorrow.
