The following suggestion was posted on r/dogecoindev:

On the Bitcoin.org site, they have https://bitcoin.org/en/support-bitcoin which kind of consolidate some of the ways to either use or help BTC grow, as well as supporting documentation and dev info. I think that helps nestle the info into an easy-to-digest manner.

I think it would be great to have something like that on the new site along with content that discusses how to support and advocate for Doge in our communities or online.

I'd be enlightened to see at least the following items reflected for starters:

  1. Doing good / spread the word
  2. Running a full node
  3. Maintaining this website's content and translations - with a link to this repo
  4. Supporting and educating people about Dogecoin - with a link to r/dogeducation
  5. Development - with a link to r/dogecoindev (?)

What does everyone think? And is someone willing to pick this up?

would love that. As i'm not best content creator i would need help with content, but i could make the page, integrate it in menus and stuff like that

zaridan commented 3 years ago

I'm happy to help create the content if you'd like to create the page(s) @edswf1.

I can create a first draft for review and iterate from there...

please feel free to contribute

Edit: #141 would be an ideal widget for the hero section

I wasn't sure if zaridan was still working on this issue and I found it interesting so I took it up myself. I have submitted a pr. I'm brand new to contributing to open source so I hope I have done everything correctly and was not too hasty in simply picking something up without asking first. Please let me know if there is anything I can do or should have done differently.

Thank you for this contribution! All perfectly fine!

You PR'd "early", which is good practice in this case because it opens up development and getting help from other contributors so that as little as possible duplicate work is done 👍

I don't think it's ready for publication yet as-is - mostly because of missing translations - but I think the best way forward is to stage this on a separate branch, then we open up to easy incremental work and we get this done faster. If anyone has an opinion on that I'm happy to discuss!

UPDATE: With the merge of #148 we now have a working page to improve upon.

Would love to contribute and help this community grow and evolve, I’ll gladly translate the website to Swedish if possible!
