Nothing jumps out in your logs.
From what i remember sons of the forest is relatively memory heavy (and min requirements are 12GB i can see on steam) so using DXVK on your system likely won't do you any good Might even make it worse.
Edit: Actually
Edit 2: Actually probably not importantwarn: D3D11CreateDevice: Unsupported driver type
Also it looks like it might use shared resources which isn't supported on Windows
warn: D3D11: Failed to write shared resource info for a texture
warn: D3D11Device::OpenSharedResourceGeneric: Handle not found: 0x40001482
But if others on Nexus don't have an issue with that then it likely isn't the problem
Most likely this: #3279

I do have 16GB of RAM.

I asked people over there to share their logs to this issue thread, from the fewer comments I read there only Nvidia GPU owners are facing this issue, and not all of them, AMD GPU owners aren't having this issue, so probably @K0bin is correct.
Would disabling this do anything? DXGI: NvAPI workaround enabled, reporting AMD GPU

No. You need to disable the option in the Nvidia control panel.

I tried looking for how to disable it, but I'm not seeing it anywhere, sorry for the bother.

Ah right i read it wrong.

Wouldn't expect it to no. I'm not aware of a issue with this game and that
Thank you for your time everyone, I'll keep this open for the others to report what they got if it's alright with you, if not feel free to close it.
Besides trying to give uninstalling RTSS a shot i would also look to disable any other overlays like Nvidia and such.
Nvidia settings on Windows i don't have much experience with so can't personally help there.
All overlays are disabled, I'll give uninstalling RTSS a shot and report back later, thank you.
You need to change the swapchain mode in the Nvidia control panel.

I found it eventually and tried both options, same result, I also uninstalled RTSS and still won't launch. I think a fresh Windows install would do it, but it's not worth it really.
Something I forgot to add since I'm seeing these lines in my logs, is that I'm using a HDMI to VGA adapter, and using CRU to manipulate EDID data, and if that's true it could be related to this issue. Anyway, I'm just stabbing in the dark, tomorrow I'll check again with another monitor without an adapter and report back.

Those lines are harmless, i get them too.
I understand DXVK is meant for Linux and apologize for taking some of your time, I saw this here and gave it a try, it worked for some people but not for others, myself included.
If you use Windows, please check the following page: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/wiki/Windows
I am using Windows 10, I tried everything at the link, except uninstalling RTSS (I turned it off), I have it updated to latest version, but I'll try removing it if these logs contain nothing of value.
Software information
Game: Sons of the Forest
The game crashes at launch with DXVK, I even tried DXVK-async with the environment variable DXVK_ASYNC set to 1, same result except for one tiny difference, DXVK-async does generate a 2KB cache before crashing.
