Activation tool becomes non responsive after plugging in 4.0 IOGEAR dongle. #199

When it prompts me to plug in my dongle it automatically freezes after I plug it in. I'm on a 27" iMac Mid 2011 and it is currently running 10.10.4. I downloaded the newest activation tool today. Please help me. Thanks!

I have learned that I have an Atheros chip. Can someone help me in where I can get a different chip with wifi and Bluetooth 4.0?
