Wondering if anyone else was having this issue? I didn't find anything similar to mine, but I tried to download the Beta tool since I heard the main wasn't fully supportive to the new OS X. Here is what I get but kinda funny how it says its completed an installed, but when I preform the steps like in 10.10, nothing changed.

Has there been any testing on this yet? I would like to upgrade soon rather than having to do a clean install of Yosemite to fix some serious issues.

sysfloat commented 9 years ago

What version did you use? Please try the new beta version which should support El Capitan GM/final.

On Mac mini 2011 everything work great on yosemite with the old version of CAT. On elcapitan Airdrop and handoff are ok with CAT 2.1.1 but my trackpad and keyboard don't work at all : too much interference !! Any idea why there are interference since elcapitan ?

is system integrity enabled or disabled?

  1. Restart the computer, while booting hold down Command-R to boot into recovery mode.
  2. Once booted, navigate to the "Utilities > Terminal" in the top menu bar.
  3. Enter csrutil disable in the terminal window and hit the return key.
  4. Restart the machine and System Integrity Protection will now be disabled.
  5. To reenable System Integrity Protection follow the steps above, except use the csrutil enable command for step 3.
slvrscoobie commented 9 years ago

that means that you didnt change the 'allow from anywhere' in the general tab of system preferences. Sheesh people, basics...

mfreuden77 commented 9 years ago

haha do you mean the security and privacy tab... sheesh not the general tab...

I'm having problems with random crashes with this installed. Not sure where the fault lies. When I run the system diagnostic, I see this:

Verifying OS kext protection... OK. Kext developer mode is not active. This tool can fix this.

I select to activate from the menu and it says it's already activated. Do I need to deactivate the reactivate? I'm on 10.11.1.

Hi, Please help me to understand the new SIP.

  1. If SIP is On system files are protected. After system update SIP will repair permissions automatically. That's why no more repair option in Disk Util. With SIP On I cannot install CAT or xTraFinder or Bartender. Cause they modify system files.
  2. If SIP is Off. I can install CAT. Will it work if I turn on SIP back? Or SIP must be Off to get CAT? If I keep SIP Off will the El Cap repair permissions? Do I need to use 3d party utility to fix permissions?
sysfloat commented 9 years ago

@mobile4 You can enable SIP again after running CAT, because it's done patching the system files (No idea if that would mess with the other tools mentioned)
