Your Issue: I upgraded my Bluetooth card and it's recognized and system preferences lists it as 4 0x6 so it's correct. The Continuity Activation Tool ran and the computer reset. After that I should activate HandOff through the General system settings but unfortunately I don't have the option anywhere so somehow the new card and the Continuity update didn't work somewhere, so I spent some money and 1 hour of time for nothing so far. Can this be fixed?

Continuity works for me in 10.13.6 (High Sierra) using a Bluetooth 4.0 Airport card.

After successful installation using the CAT script & reboot, the General section in System Preferences should state near the bottom that Handoff has been activated. If the box is not ticked, do so and reboot. Also logging out of iCloud & back on + reboot helps...

In High Sierra, everything (Wi-Fi Calling, AirDrop, Personal Hotspot) except Handoff works for me.

Can anyone explain why and how to overcome this? Using latest beta (6) of CAT.

macOS Sierra (10.12) no longer runs CAT successfully on the same machine (early 2011 17” MacBook Pro). I multiboot between Sierra & High Sierra via external drive. Does the older OS need an older version of CAT?

Update: Handoff now works in addition to Wi-Fi calling, Universal Clipboard, AirDrop, and Personal Hotspot in High Sierra after reinstalling on an internal SSD (& upgrading my RAM to 16Gb). 2011 17” unibody MacBook Pro feels like brand-new!
