pls fix license so it is most free open source GPL v3 License, thx otherwise microsoft will sell it

sr229 commented 5 years ago

I think its fine in its own way. GPLv3 is strict copyleft. In a legal standpoint, this allows to maintain copyright of the author, then again, this is just a CoC - licensing is not a problem.

Be reminded Unlicnese and along with GPL is for software, I recommend Creative Commons instead.

GNU FDL

chindraba-work commented 5 years ago

@Serkan-devel The GFDL is significantly less "free" than the Unlicense, and is even debated as to being "free" at all.

@sr229 Yes, the Unlicense was designed for software. From a text perspective, it is still useful, and I know of nothing designed for docs, which is commonly applied, that has similar freedom. As you said, this is just a CoC, and the author has already relinquished copyrights anyway.

really disappointed to hear that microsoft is thinking of buying the rights to this project. please dont sell out on us little guys

@chindraba-work but Unlicense is still designed for code... Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use CC 0 Public Domain?
