This is an expansion of #16 where I can collate research and thoughts on other ideas for the implementation of cursors conversion with this tool.

Getting multiple sizes for the cursors?:

• This should compare against a hardcoded list of cursor paths, and if matched it should just convert all the sizes the cursor has to one cursor theme
• The tool should set the respective cursor size in the dropdown instead when handling such cursor themes, therefore, unless the size is Default in the .theme file
• If one of the cursors for the respective size is missing, it should just omit that entire size from the set

Converting cursors when converting themes:

• The cursor should be the only one converted when making a conversion
• If all the cursors were converted, there would be a mess of duplication as more sources are added
• This being said, make a backup of all of the cursors anyway just in case, to prevent DVD reusage in future conversions
• If the cursor is present in the .theme's folder, convert it irregardless of the selected aesthetic (be it Windows aesthetics or No-Disc System ones), but if not only convert it in Windows aesthetics

Cursor naming scheme:

• Cursor is in Windows\Cursors:

  • Name is identified in hardcoded list of cursor names: (name from list) - (name of aesthetic-source) (e.g.: "None - Windows 7 Professional")
  • Name not identified: (main cursor's filename) - (name of aesthetic-source)

• Cursor is in .theme's folder: (theme's name) (number of times theme's name has been used) (e.g.: "DS!Delta (2)")

Cursor schematics:

• Windows cursors use hotpoints per frame of cursor
• X11 cursors use hotx and hoty per frame of cursor

Cursor incompatibilities:

• Inversion cursors - never seen X11 cursors invert the contents beneath them unlike Inverted (might as well therefore use None or Black depending on the theme's colour scheme)

Cursor shadows:

• Body of cursor is taken and set to 0 brightness (transparent cursor affects shadow-opacity)
• Cursor is offset a bit
• Cursor's opacity is reduced
• Cursor is blurred an unknown amount
• Result is underlaid beneath the cursor
