cleanup jshint warnings #96

grunt jshint looks like a mess. It seems most warnings are due to the fact that we are inconsistent with the use of indentation (specific tab width). Can we agree on using 4 space soft tabs from now on? Setting for 'indent' in .jshintrc will have to be changed to '4'.
