Dr. Dahlquist would be the authority here, but I think for starters you'll be fine with anything off a fairly authoritative source. The Wikipedia definition doesn't sound like a bad start actually; we can tweak later as needed—“A gene regulatory network (GRN) is a collection of DNA segments in a cell which interact with each other indirectly and with other substances in the cell, thereby governing the expression levels of mRNA and proteins.”
I created a rough draft of the abstract in the wiki. I couldn't find any other abstracts regarding software applications on the research symposium website, so I wasn't entirely sure what to include.
Hi,
The wikipedia definition is not quite right (something got lost when simplifying it for wikipedia readers, I think).
I've edited the abstract in place on the wiki https://github.com/dondi/GRNsight/wiki/Abstract
I put GRNSight in the title, fixed Dondi's name, and added Dr. Fitzpatrick as a mentor.
I think you need to now add a few sentences on how you are actually doing the project, the technology/code/architecture involved.
Best, Dr. D

I added some detail about what technologies we are planning on using.
I took a look at the abstract and made some tweaks. I think it's ready for final approval by all involved.
Is there a specific definition of gene regulatory network I should use in the abstract?
