I haven't sound calls also :-(

Wow, I am glad it's not just me. I am going nuts trying to troubleshoot this!
Using sipdroid 1.2.1 beta on a Samsung Moment. The previous version of
sipdroid had
this same problem too. The problem is no audio, on both sipdroid and normal
calls,
after you have completed one call with sipdroid. Interestingly enough, that
one call
on sipdroid *will work* but with one-way audio (you can hear the other person,
they
can't hear you) and always on speakerphone. The problem can be solved by
rebooting.
Steps to re-create:
1) open Sipdroid, the status icon turns from yellow to green
2) Place a call through Sipdroid. The call is connected, but the other party
can't
hear you. You can hear them, but it only comes through the speakerphone.
Disconnect
call.
3) Call another number through Sipdroid. The called party's phone will ring,
but you
cannot hear anything this time. If the other party answers, they cannot hear
you.
Disconnect call.
5) Exit Sipdroid
6) Try to call a normal phone number through Dialer. The called party's phone
will
ring, but you cannot hear anything. If the other party answers, they cannot
hear
you. Disconnect call.
7) Reboot to get things back to normal
I hope that with these additional details, Sipdroid can be fixed for good on the
moment :)

Since v1.3.10 lot of problems with Sipdroid on a Motorola Milestone with
Andriod v2.0.1.
Release 1.3.10 & 1.3.11 has no mic audio (far end don't hear anything).
Release 1.3.12 has no mic audio and no speaker audio, so no sound at all in the
call.
When dialing a number, DTMF tones are heard.
Reverted back to v1.3.5 which works fine on the Milestone.

I have found that I can temporarily solve this problem by opening up the
dialpad and
pressing a number. The dialed number tone goes through. After that my voice
gets
through as well. Sometimes the voice stops working again after a few seconds.

Sipdroid 1.4 beta, Samsung Galaxy with the latest firmware (Android 1.6).
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install sipdroid 1.4 beta from the market on the samsung galaxy
2. Configure a SIP account
3. Make a SIP call
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There is no audio, sent or received. If I play with the mic/headset gain in the
advanced settings I occasionally
can get some voice, usually in one direction, out of Galaxy.
The dialer app cannot be properly opened and I get only FCs.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sipdroid 1.4 beta from the android market; on the samsung galaxy with Android
1.6
Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
Asterisk, haven't tried the PBXes account.

On my samsung galaxy spica i5700 i`m using sipdroid 1.4 beta. The phone is
running on
android 1.5. I use asterisk server without any routing between the phone and
the server.
Problem: The phone uses the speaker in stead of the regular mic

regular mic on my Samsung Galaxy spica i5700. Is there a way to solve this?

+1 With a Motorola Dext (android 1.5)
The first call seems to be ok, but then the sound subsystem seems to be
"locked".
For example, if I try to run the Acast podcast player, AFTER trying to call with
sipdroid, there's no sound and the play function does not seem to work.
A reboot is then needed !

There must be a problem with the phone or maybe samsung's version of 1.5
because I
tried using fring and have basically the same outcome. I can get it to pair
successfully with sipgate, but the loudspeaker is the only thing that works,
and there
is nothing heard on the far end of the conversation.

I have made a special build to repair audio lockup on Samsung Galaxy after SIP
calls.
Please test it asap so we can include it into market if it helps.
This will not cure 1-way audio on Samsung Moment, and unfortunately not route
audio to
earpiece on Samsung Spica.
Original comment by pmerl...@googlemail.com

Well, it sort of works on Galaxy with 1.6. Steps:
1. Removed sipdroid 2.4 beta, rebooted.
2. Installed the attached 1.4.4 beta, configured SIP account, rebooted.
3. Made a SIP call from phone to computer.
--> Results: No incoming audio on the phone, after the SIP call has been hung
up, lock up in the dialer app.
4. Rebooted again, set all the gain/mic settings to highest.
--> Results: Quieter than on Magic but acceptable audio, no lock ups with the
dialer app on exit.
Any chance you can take this one step further and automatically set gain upon
installation depending on the
phone it's installed on?

Sipdroid 1.2.4 works very good on my Galaxy I7500 (original 1.5 ROM). The newer
versions don't (including 1.4.5 and 1.4.6).
With the newer versions mic is working well, but there is no incoming audio.
After
hanging up sipdroid, no audio works on the Galaxy. Only reboot solves the
problem.

Add Motorola Backflip to the list of the phones with sipdroid problem -- same
symptoms as the Samsung Galaxy
phones, only old versions work. I've now went back to 1.2.4 too, but even with
that if I use DTMF tones during
the Sipdroid call, sometimes audio cuts off.
PS. Could you please make 1.3.5 and 1.3.14 available for downloads?
thanks!

Same kind of issues with recent sipdroid versions.
System details: samsung galaxy i7500, galaxo 1.6.3.1 rom, JB2 baseband. I use
sipdroid with pbxes and neuf
talk (SFR) sip service.
Description of the problem:
A fresh wipe and flash seemed to make sipdroid work fine for a few times.
However, after a little while sipdroid
stopped working correctly. A this time, I was installing applications to make
my phone usable, so I supposed
there could have been a conflict with some other app (some are rooted, such as
adfree or autokiller).
Most of the time any sip call (to *43 test call for example) won't produce any
sound, even the usual end call
"beep". Sometimes, launching an application that produces sound (meridian,
change notification sound...) will
unlock the sound system and make call possibles. But most of the times, any
application that makes sound will
lock and have to be force closed.
Things work fine now since I've reverted to sipdroid 1.3.12 .

Same issues (no audio, FC in dialer) with Motorola Backflip. So far the only
version of sipdroid with bearable
experience is 1.3.5, all the newer versions give you problems listed above.
Is there maybe a test/diagnose utility I could run on my backflip to make your
job of implementing support for it
easier?
thanks!

I have a Motorola Droid and just installed version 1.5 I was having the no
audio
problem. I noticed, however that my wi-fi seemed to be turning itsself off and
back
on. I disabled the sipdroid option to manage the wifi connection and was able
to
place a problem free call both over 3G and Wi-Fi by manually controlling the
state.
Not sure if any of the problems listed above are related to that, or if that is
a
seperate bug. I'm going to check and see if this is a seperate bug with the
new
release, but thought it worthwhile to mention it to see if it helps anyone else

Is any developer working on it? It seems to be only reports of people having
the problem.
Unfortunately I lack the time to take a deep look at the code now, but looking
at the thread, and after testing myself I found that:
1- The problem doesn't appear in version 1.2.4
2- The problem blocks all the sound reproduction subsystem in the phone (not
only calls).
3- The problem appears sooner if you set higher priority to the GSM codec.
4- In the other side, it seems to take longer to appear if you use the PCM
Law-A codec.
Could it be possible that the fixes in r436 to the codec selection were not
enough?

OK, on i1 running Android 1.5, sipdroid 1.5.5, I get no audio(like phone is
muted) originating from phone on any call, I can hear other party fine.
Fix (???) is hit menu as soon as call connects, hit speaker softbutton that
pops up, and it is fixed. An additional speaker icon appears on top of
screen(separate from speakerphone icon) and audio works both ways now. Have to
do this on every call.
That strange additional speaker icon does not appear on any other app and in
not in phone manual??? weird.

I have the same issue with a Samsung Moment running Android 2.1 - when I do a
cat /proc/kmsg I notice that Sipdroid is routing the audio to 0x02 (Speaker
output) and 0x21/0x22 (VOICEMEMO_MAIN and VOICEMEMO_SUB) which also happens to
route to the back speaker.
Can a dev please add some logic so that when Sipdroid is installed on a Moment
that it doesn't attempt to route audio via 0x02/0x21/0x22? I have personally
tried mucking around with the Moment's kernel itself however results are spotty
at best.
