I downloaded today the last update and I immediately changed the CODECS
option from AUTO to GSM and in this last case the call drops immediately

If I put again to AUTO, it works again

Please check the problem

GSM codec works for me.

What would be nice is if it could automatically choose G.711 when connected via
WiFi
and GSM when on 3G/EDGE.

Samuel,

I'm also quite keen to see how well speex performs over 3G.
It will take me a while to get a build environment set up for myself but if you
can
build it in to a beta version for me that would be great.

samuelv0304,
Looking at the status of this enhancement, I guess it's not available yet.
Then, how
does Siphon choose the codec currently when several codecs are turned on? Does
it
agree on the codec during the handshake with a server? Are there any priorities
if
more than one is available?

You are right I haven't progressed on this issue.
Effectively, there are negotiations between server and iphone during the
connection.
