I only have a mic and the built in speaker.

will try with the earphone/mic when I get one in a couple of days

BTW. how will the g729 work, will be built in and then the end user pays the
license
somewhere ?

thanks

I reproduced your issue on my ipod touch 2.
It's weird because I think it worked before, and I didn't change anything on
audio part.

g729 is not enabled by default.
I don't think users can pay license by themselves because
  * Initial Fee: $15,000
  * <100K     $1.45
  * 100K-500K $1.30
  * ...
Perhaps, person/people could pay the initial fee, and after everybody should pay
little more than $1.45.

Could you enable log with detailled level ?
connect your micro
run Siphon
call (you should/could get registration error)
quit
open log.txt (written in /var/mobile/Library/Siphon)
find the line beginning with "iphonesound.c Starting capture stream error
XXXXX"
and send me the XXXXX error number

wait a minute!

I think my microphone plug was not fully connected. it is a microphone thumb
tacks
micro-micophone for ipod touch 2g.

now it works ok, audio two way with the microphone and speaker on the ipod
touch v2.

I guess if the microphone is misconnected it blocks both audio ways

sorry

Exactly I believe this is the problem.
I will add a test to verify if micro is connected or not.

Siphon verifies if microphone is connected before to phone.

one more detail with the micro-microphone.

when you click speakerphone, sound starts as soon as the call connects. but
before
you can not hear the ringing.
