Description

Want to request the support of nuphy field75 gaming keeb

CalebQ42 commented 1 year ago

I have a Field75 and more then happy to get any needed information. I'm also open to attempting to add support myself, but my knowledge of C++ is minimal.

@CalebQ42

Hey, did you ever get anywhere with this, as i’m looking into buying a Field75 but not having proper linux support would be a deal breaker.

I would also be willing to try and add support, but I would need someone to tell me the basic steps and then I can do the rest, as I’ve never done anything like this before and think it would be interesting.

CalebQ42 commented 1 year ago

@GreenJon902 I haven't gotten around to looking into it yet.

Support for Field75 could improve keyboard's usability considerably, because the manufacturer's software does not support F13-F24 keystrokes at all (it stubbornly ignores them when they're pressed on another keyboard). With Field75 support in nudelta, these keystrokes could be assigned to G1-G8 keys to give them unique and non-colliding meanings.

So just to adjust expectations, I straight up cannot do this myself because they changed the microcontroller and supposedly the Field75 has its own console. So while the other keyboards are still a maybe, I'm very sorry to say I will not be tackling this one myself. Contributions are super welcome, however.

I'm looking into trying to tackle this as well to get the support for the f13-24 keys and maybe the fn layer if I can. I'm new to microcontrollers and I'm wondering if you could send me into the right direction of where to start.
