Horizontal timeline #7

A good design is needed for a horizontal timeline. I think the current vertical cel view isn't very practical and doesn't represent the thought process of animation.

Have you checked out the old FOSS software "Pencil"? There's a recent fork called "Pencil2d". That had a pretty good timeline, I seem to remember.

I just took a look at it, that's approximately what I'm looking for, unfortunately Pencil2D uses the Qt UI toolkit. Frankly I'd rather use that, but the rest of MyPaint is written in GTK+, so we'll have to stick with that. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Yeah, I was mainly suggesting it as a design concept. This layout also fits with the plan for multiple animation layers.
