exfat-nofuse's development has been stale for more than a year with no clear maintainership.

It's also been lacking critical upstream(which is Samsung) changes.

Please use this instead: https://github.com/arter97/exfat-linux

Actually Greg K-H just merged Samsung's exfat driver into his staging-next and Linus apparently agrees. It's going to be in 5.4. Maybe you can send some of your patches upstream?
